DESY Particle Physics Group in H1

H1 Experiment and people

H1 is one of the Experiments at HERA and is a collaboration of about 400 scientists from 39 institutes of 12 countries throughout the world. The DESY FH1 group is one of the largest groups in H1 with about 60 people. We are involved in running the detector, in R&D for detector development and physics analysis and phenomenology.

Our main interest at HERA is the structure of a proton and the theory of strong interactions (Quantum Chromo Dynamics, QCD). The results obtained are essential for the physics reach of the next high energy colliders like LHC.
